Celina Chew was appointed as President of the Bayer Group in Greater China on 1 September 2014. She joined Bayer in 1997 as a lawyer in the Bayer Greater China, Legal Department and became Head of Legal for Bayer in Greater China in 1998. Prior to this, she worked as a private practice lawyer. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honors) degree from the University of Western Australia and a Masters of Laws (Distinction) degree from the University of Hong Kong.
During her time as Head of Legal for Bayer in Greater China, Ms. Chew was also a member of the Bayer Greater China Leadership Team where she had special responsibility for topics such as Sustainability. In 2011, she moved to a management role and became Country Group Head for Bayer in the North ASEAN Region and Managing Director at Bayer Thai Co. Ltd. In this role, she was responsible for Bayer’s operations in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. In 2014, she returned to Bayer in Greater China as President of Bayer, Greater China.
As President of Bayer Greater China, Ms. Chew’s responsibilities include building bridges to China’s local innovation capabilities, including through Bayer’s start-up incubator programs like Gratns4Apps, digital health communities such as STEM4Health and social entrepreneurship initiatives. This coincides with her deep interest in connections – connecting ideas, connecting people, connecting cultures and connecting the dots. She is also honored to be named in the Forbes China Top 100 Businesswomen in China Lists for 2017 and 2018.
