Mr. Borgonjon pioneered China’s business education in the early 1990s as the Director of the China Europe Management Institute (CEMI, Beijing), and in the mid-nineties as co-founder of the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai. He was the founding president of CEIBS and a member of the board until 2015.

Mr. Borgonjon established InterChina Consulting in 1995, and has led the company to become one of the leading strategy and M&A firms in China. Apart from the management of the company, Jan has been mainly involved in advisory work for industrial projects in China, including strategy projects, joint venture negotiation and M&A projects in a variety of different industries.

Mr. Borgonjon has been active on behalf of business as a member of the Executive Committee and Vice President of the European Chamber of Commerce in China from 2004 to 2008.

Mr. Borgonjon has a Bachelor degree in Chinese studies from Leuven University, Belgium, followed by two years at Nanjing University and an MBA degree from Henley, UK. He currently lives in Shanghai and speaks fluent Mandarin, English, Spanish, French, and Dutch.
